BIRMINGHAM, Alabama --
The CEO and president of Boatright Companies is donating $10,000 to CrimeStoppers of Metro Alabama.
Shane Boatright will present area law enforcement leaders with a check on Tuesday to support the program in its efforts to assist lawmen in arresting crime suspects.
"This donation kicks off a renewed effort by CrimeStoppers by increasing the reward funds available to those who call in tips," Boatright said in a prepared statement issued today.
CrimeStoppers of Metro Alabama began in 1981 and reaches a the seven-county area of Jefferson, Walker, Blount, St. Clair, Shelby, Chilton and Bibb counties.
Through the program, cash rewards are offered to anonymous tipsters through the telephone hotline, 205-254-7777 or online at Birminghamcrimestoppers.com.
Boatright Companies, located on Inverness Center Parkway, handles maintenance, manufacturing, repair, safety and ownership in the rail industry.
